In all of their brilliance, NASA seems to have forgotten to share their hopes and dreams in a way the public can relate to, leaving one of humanities grandest projects with terrible PR and massive funding cuts. I have a lot of ideas for a NASA marketing campaign, but I doubt they’d pay me even minimum wage to work for them.

Why just one starship when they can do a rag-tag fleet of ships? :-)NASA wants to send astronauts into space and never bring them back.
In the works is a “Hundred Year Starship” that will be designed to take humans on a one-way trip to other planets, like Mars. “It would really be little different from the first white settlers of the North American continent, who left Europe with little expectation of return.”
Right. No difference at all.
